Lorena Ziraldo, Lorena Ziraldo explores figurative subject matter, both in landscape and in interiors, using the richness of paint to convey a sense of the human experience. She is a graduate of NSCAD, the internationally acclaimed university for the arts. Lorena has had solo exhibitions in Vancouver, Ottawa, and Halifax and numerous group exhibitions with reviews such as: “Queen of Colour” and “Ziraldo's art is as gorgeous as it is mysterious, leaving the viewer wanting more”.

Artist Statement: "I do seek a balance between the subject matter and other qualities that paintings offer. Strength of composition and colour; the opportunity for a narrative; good paint handling and an element of emotion that is more ambiguous than clear; are all important to me.  And I do believe in the importance of beauty - something inherently beautiful can still be edgy."
