Fu Gu was born in China. His artistic experience began as a child, being deeply influenced by his father and brother. After graduating from The Central Academy of Arts and Design in Bejing, he embarked upon a design career. Gu has travelled throughtout Asia and Europe, exploring Tibet three times. In 1988 he was honoured to hang his paintings in a group exhibition at the National Art Gallery in Bejing.

"I use deep, vivid, vibrant colours in order to express emotion and enthusiasm, especially in relation to the human element".

Vancouver became Gu's home in 1999 where he now paints full time.
