Larry Bracegirdle, veteran of illumination, shows us his view of the warmth and depth of everyday living. Self taught in both art and music, his work and life have been greatly influenced by the masters:

'Over 30 years ago when I was learning to paint, Vermeer was one of my heroes. Later I discovered Richard Estes' scenes of downtown New York. It never occurred to me that I might paint these subjects, but here I am fascinated with the subtle lighting of the indoors and the dramatic lighting of the street.' Raised in Montreal, Bracegirdle now lives and works in Victoria, British Columbia.
